Shared Drive Permissions by Role

 

You can invite Workspace members to a Team Drive and collaborate together.
When inviting members to the drive, you can assign one of the following permissions: Can manage, Can edit, Can comment, or Can view.

 

  • Can manage

    • Members with "Can manage" permission can edit and manage all members and items in the drive.

    • They can change drive information (name, description, color) and assign roles to others (Can manage / Can edit / Can comment / Can view).
       
  • Can edit
    • Members can add and edit items in the drive, such as designs and templates.
       
  • Can comment
    • Members can leave comments (feedback) on designs and create copies of them.
    • They can also use templates and content stored in the drive.
      *Note: Copies are saved in "My Drive."
       
  • Can view
    • Members can view designs stored in the drive and create copies.
    • They can also use templates and content stored in the drive.

 

💡Please Read!

  • In workspaces using the Free plan, all workspace members are automatically set as Team Drive managers.
    • You cannot invite members individually or assign roles for the drive.
  • To move designs or content from My Drive to the Team Drive, you must have "Can edit" or higher permission for the drive.
