Share Design (Invite Users)

*️⃣ Please check this first!

To collaborate in real-time, members must belong to the same workspace.
Please make sure that the member has been invited to the workspace!

To invite a member, go to:
[ People → Invite Members ] in the workspace settings.

🖐🏻 Important!
If you're on a Pro or higher workspace plan, adding new members may incur additional charges.
So please be cautious when sending out invitations!

With the [Share Design] feature, you can invite workspace members to collaborate on a design stored in your drive.
You can edit together, exchange feedback via comments, or share the design as view-only.

Refine ideas together and reflect changes in real time for more efficient collaboration 💡

There are two ways to share or show a design to others:

✔️ Design Sharing allows you to invite specific members to collaborate or give feedback.
✔️ Design Publishing lets you publish the design on the web, making it viewable by anyone with the link.

How to Share a Design (Invite Users) and How to Receive an Invitation

1️⃣ Click the Share button located at the top right corner of the editor for the design you want to share.

2️⃣ Enter the name or email address of the member you want to invite, select the appropriate role for collaboration, and then click the Share button.
If the member has notifications enabled in their workspace or the “Send email notification” option is checked, the invitation will also be sent via email.

3️⃣ When a design is shared, the invited member will receive a notification either via the bell icon (Notifications) in their workspace or via email, so please make sure to check.

(Notification feed from the invited member's perspective)

Alternatively, the invitation can also be confirmed in the Shared Design section of the workspace.

Member Roles in Design Sharing (User Invitation)

When a member is invited, the design editor will open based on the role granted by the design owner.

✔️ Can Edit:
The member can edit and collaborate on the design in real time, with the same permissions as the design owner.

✔️ Can View:
The member can only view the design.
They can request edit access through the “Request to Edit” feature.

✔️ Can Comment:
The member can view the design and leave comments (feedback) on specific sections of the design.
They can also request edit access through the “Request edit access” feature.

The design owner can check and switch modes by going to
"Select mode" → "Edit mode" from the main menu.

Requesting Edit Access When a Design Is Shared (User Invitation)

If you've been granted View or Comment access, but need to make edits or collaborate in real-time, you can request edit access.

When you request edit access, a notification will be sent to the design owner's email, as shown in the image below.

Click [Update permission] in the email, or recheck the sharing settings in the design.
You’ll see a new request regarding permission change has been added.

The design owner can simply update the member’s permissions again.

⚠️ I requested edit access, but I still can't edit.
👉🏻 Please double-check if the design owner has actually changed your permission to "Can Edit."

⚠️ The owner changed the permission to "Can Edit", but I still can’t edit.
👉🏻 If the permission has been updated, the member must exit the design and re-open it for the change to take effect.

Please re-access the design from the Shared Design list.
